anZel’s 1st night…
Written by jlz on April 20, 2006 – 7:40 am -Well, I guess we figured out that anZel’s cranky coz he’s hungry…I know I know…some of you are probably thinking “duhhhhhh!!!!!!”. I guess we just didn’t feed him enough.
We started giving him a bit more (5ml more) and he was fine after that. We got to sleep for a few hours!!
Oh also, our grand plan of getting him to sleep in his own crib has failed. When it’s 3 in the morning and he’s crying up a storm, it’s just easier to put him in our bed. Sigh…

first to-be-sleepless night
Written by jlz on April 19, 2006 – 10:44 pm -So it’s anZel’s first night home. He seemed comfortable at first, but he started getting cranky when we want to get a couple of hours of sleep. I am currently with him downstairs so beeber can get a couple hours of sleep before the next feeding.
At first we just tried swaddling, but that didn’t quite work without the shushing. I can’t possibly be shushing the whole 2 hours!!!
Sigh…holding him now while typing w/ 1 hand…also at the same time trying music…

anZel wouldn’t latch, so we have to finger feed him…personally I think he’s just lazy 
anZel’s finger-feeding instrument…
anZel’s first time in his car seat…he’s tiny!! And he didn’t like it at first…
anZel’s a lot more content after he got used to the car seat…

Still the only thing he knows how to do is sleep. Lost some weight…(beeber knows the current weight, I forgot to ask 
)
But he and beeber will be coming home today, yeh!!

Sharing bdays with celebrity babies
Written by jlz on April 18, 2006 – 10:03 pm -So I don’t know if this is good news or bad news. Apparently anZel shares the same birthday as Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise’s baby girl and Brooke Shields’ second baby girl.
Just an FYI, I don’t normally visit People’s website. I was searching for other baby info and that popped up in Google.

Written by jlz on April 18, 2006 – 9:44 pm -Week 28 we started doing kick counts for anZel. The idea is to count how long it takes him to move 10 times. It’s usually best to do it a hour or so after dinner.
Here’s his chart, ending 4/17 (anZel is born 4/18). A pretty active boy I’d say…

Both beeber and anZel did an amazing job of coordinating and accomplishing the birth process the ALL-natural way! It’s quite an experience and we will be posting more here later.

You can clearly see the different stages of contractions. We had a 2 hour sleep, which is why you see the gap between 10 and 12.
We stopped recording once we decided it was time to go to the hospital.
