BOOM

Written by beeber on March 18, 2008 – 10:04 pm -

On our way to fill up today…

anZel: Mummy, Auntie crosses the street/road.
Mummy: That’s right. Auntie crosses the street/road.
anZel: * * * *
Mummy: ??
anZel: Auntie isn’t holding hand.
Mummy: Oh…umm…she is an adult. She is able to walk by herself. Children will need to hold adults’ hands.
anZel: She doesn’t hold hand. She would go BOOM with the car.

millionaire

Written by beeber on March 15, 2008 – 10:32 pm -

If I got a penny for each “no” and “I don’t want to” that uttered from anZel’s mouth today, I would be a millionaire by now.

We are hit with a lethal combination of san-nap afternoon, runny nose, cough, and swollen gum (pearly white, please come on out already!). Our 33” bundle of joy whined and cried for two hours straight this afternoon. The only thing came out of his mouth was “I don’t want to”, “I don’t want mummy”, and “no”. He finally went down for good at 7:40 pm with 10 oz of milk, three teaspoon of oatmeal, a handful of Anne’s bunny cheddar crackers, six pieces of cereal, less than 10 grapes for the whole day. When he stirred at 10 pm, I went to check him out.

anZel: hold
mum: No (it’s my turn!!!), it’s bed time.
anZel: Hold for a little bit then go to sleep
mum (SUCKER!!)

I put some Vic’s on his chest and held him until he fell asleep. I laid him down and he started scream and kicking. Would someone tell me where I could collect my pennies and the return address for our 33” bundle of joy? We are keeping the 22” for now.

uplugged

Written by beeber on March 6, 2008 – 12:01 am -

For the past month, I have composed several blog entries in my head, events that I want to document. Like when anZel says, “there are many uncles and aunties sitting on the sofa and watch TV.” How anZel is using the drinking straw as pointer to instruct us to sing along. One night, Arden laughed so hard in her dream that she woke me up. And how she has been able to stay awake much longer and loves her morning massage. Or one morning, I felt like a million bucks when I was able to eat breakfast, pack anZel’s lunch bag and cook his breakfast in 15 minutes. I wish to document all these in details. However, these are all that is left between my ears.

Taking care of two under two is taking a toll on my brain function. By 9 o’clock each morning, my skull feels as if it is filled with a bowl of mush. ‘It’s like the book “Goodnight Moon”,’ says anZel. You are right, child. Mum’s brain is nothing but a bowl of mush. It doesn’t help that I only have time to read books with no more than four sentences per page. As unchallenged as I feel most of the times, anZel’s demand for learning things have kept me busy. Most recently, he wants to know all about tulips after reading Ten Little Lady Bugs. So of I went to search for the origin of tulips.

I have also been plagued with plugged duct NUMEROUS times. Having endured a 19-hour drug-free posterior birth, I would have no problem with pain, right? NO. Plugged duct feels worse to me. How comfortable will one feel carrying a pre-cast concrete breast for 24 hours? If go untreated, one can develop mastitis (an inflammation of the breast). In order to treat plugged duct, one has to use hot compress AND massage the concrete breast rigorously (preferably until the skin breaks or bruised). Yes, I can’t seem to rid the anxiety of having plugged duct. If wearing a string of garlic will prevent me from having plugged duct, I will wear it 24/7.
