We were #10 and #11 in line. She was the first 10.5 month old there.

I will miss having a two year old who has no interest in food and a screaming four month old whose only interest is milk on tap.

2. I will miss getting on all fours to find the “magic wand” my son needs in order to go to bed

3. I will miss offering alternative security items six times (plastic green and purple grapes cluster, little tub of Vasiline, USB flash drive, USB cable) before giving up

4. I will not have to convince myself that it’s a win-win situation if I let my son cries for 30 minutes in order to go to bed san “magic wand”

5. I will miss being woken up at 11, 2, and 4 to feed someone. Then I wake myself up at 6:30 thinking YIPPEE extra half hour of sleep, is it time to feed?

6. I will miss the sing song voice after a 2 am feeding.

7. I will miss being THE solution. Whenever the baby cries, everyone looks at you and says “i think she is hungry”.

Yes…someday I will miss all of these…I really will…I am certain of it.

When my lovely niece was just a wee child, she once asked to play with a knife. My dad wanted to let her know that it wasn’t a toy. But we all know the power of a child’s curiosity! So, he gently poked her with the sharp end of the knife and told her that it was “dangerous” and wasn’t something that she would ever want to play with.

anZel showed the same curiosity about knives lately. He has seen us cut fruits with it. Naturally he would want to be part of this action. So I did the same thing that my dad did. When I asked again if he wanted the knife, he gladly said no. Yesterday, I had to use a knife to cut his pears (a plastic spoon won’t do the job, mum!). He seemed to remember that knives weren’t all that great but wasn’t sure. So he asked for it again. I hold up the knife and asked if he really wanted to play with it. He was puzzled. Then he curled his lips and tears filled his eyes. He reached both of his hands out to me asking for a hug. I felt so bad. I hugged him and he kept padding my back. :-(
