In some parts of outer space a long way from stars and planets, there is a lot of dust and gas. Some of the gas is oxygen, but it's too thin to breath because there's no local maximum of gravity to pull it together. See Larry Niven's "Integral Trees" for possible (unlikely) ways for there to be breathable oxygen in outer space. 3) Sometimes you fall asleep, Arden, right? It's the same with your brother.
